WALK OFF CARLOS! BLAST LIFTS STROS PAST YANKEES TO EVEN SERIES.

This one hurt. Carlos Correa went deep in the 11th inning to end a 4 hour 19 minute marathon and even this thrilling ALCS at 1, as the Astros ousted the Yankees 3-2 on Sunday night (10/13) at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
The Yankees were at a disadvantage early in the one as Justin Verlander was cruising and James Paxton wasn’t as he gave up an early run on a Carlos Correa RBI double in the 2nd and left the game with 51 pitches and men on 1st and 2nd in the 3rd with 1 out as Chad Green relived him and got out of the jam before proceeding to pitch 2.2 scoreless innings keeping the Astros offense at 1 run.
The Yankees knew coming Into this game they would need to rely on there bullpen but not this early as Paxton didn’t have it early and often.
As for the Yankees offense, they were able to work Justin Verlanders pitch count and not make it easy for him to retire batters and it worked as Aaron Judge went deep for a 2run HR in the 4th that gave the Yankees a 2-1 lead.
Adam Ottavino relived Green And with one pitch, the game changed as George Springer mashed a game -tying HR that got the Houston crowd back into it and evened the contest at 2.
From there, the Yankees bullpen went into a standoff with the Verlander and the Houston hurlers, as Tommy Kahlene went 2.2 scoreless innings , while Zack Britton and Aroldis Chapman each recorded a scoreless inning each to keep the Yankees in the contest.
As for there offense, the Yankees were mostly shut down by Justin Verlander as he went 6.2 innings of 2 run ball on 109 pitches surviving a relentless Yankees offense that threatened to score in the 6th when a José Altuvie bobble sent DJ LeMahieu home from 2nd, but he was thrown out at home by Carlos Correa keeping the game tied.
The game would head into extra innings where the Houston bullpen would continue the remarkable work of Justin Verlander by shutting down the Bombers, while the Yankees pen had to go through 2 more pitchers in CC Sabathia (1 batter) and Jonathan Losiga (2 Batter) before it got to JA Happ in the 10th with men on 1st and 2nd with one out and got out of it keeping the game 2-2.
But on the first pitch in the bottom of the 11th, Carlos Correa sent home happy all of the Houston supporters as he walloped a walk off solo shot to right that evened this ALCS up at 1 game apiece.
