DISHING AND SWISHING: KNICKS HAND CAVS FIRST DEFEAT OF SEASON BEHIND RED-HOT RANDLE!

Julius Randle continued his hot start to the season with his seventh triple-double, Reggie Bullock poured in. 17 points, and Elfreid Payton contributed as well with 14, as the Knicks notched their first road win of the season, and their second straight overall, defeating the previously undefeated Cleveland Cavaliers 95-86 on Tuesday; in front of 300 fans in Cleveland, Ohio.


The Knicks started the game firing on all cylinders, especially Julius Randle, who finished the first with a stat line, of 14 PTS (5-5 FG) 6 REB, 5 AST, propelling his team to a 29-14 lead after one.

The second quarter, saw the Cavs make their push, as down 32-16, their trio of Collin Sexton, Jedi Osman, and Larry Nance JR, led an 18-5 run, to cut the deficit to 37-34. A few minutes later, after the game became even at 40, New York needed a savior, and found one with Reggie Bullock starting to hit from deep, including a buzzer-beater, to finish off the half, as the Knicks built a 53-46 advantage after 48 minutes of play.



The game remained tightly-contested in the second half, with both teams trading buckets, as Andre Drummond(18 points) led the charge for Cleveland, while Mitchell Robinson(9 points), propelled the Knicks, as New York went down low in the paint. Late in frame, Nerlens Noel changed the pace of the contest, with his aggressiveness on both sides of the ball, as the visitors took a 71-64 lead headed into the fourth.


The finale, saw the Knicks do enough to maintain their lead, as RJ Barret, and Elfreid Payton continued to make shots, before Julius Randle (28 points, 11 assists, 12 rebounds) finished strong, and stretched the lead to double-digits, long enough to maintain a late hosts rally. When the horn sounded, the Knicks had a scrappy 95-86 win, and despite 27 turnovers snapped the 3-0 start to the campaign for the Cavaliers.



This win evens New York’s record at 2-2, as they embark on an historic trip to Tampa Bay, against the Raptors (0-3) on Thursday.
